The forest surrounds our town keepin' us safe. Just as safe as it is though, it's got a whole mess of danger lurkin' in there too. We're all taught when we're just little things not to wander past the tree line. You get big though, and the town starts to feel so small. I knew going into the forest against my mama’s wishes was a bad idea. I have no excuse, and now I carry something terrible inside of me. Something' festerin. The older I get, the stronger he gets.
She carries me though she resents me. No matter. I know what is best for us.
Natureza Morta is a dark urban fantasy set in a rural midwestern town. It was originally published as Still Water and Afterbirth, and has been rewritten and re-edited into a longer novella, complete with artwork by Jun T.N. And Royal Isaac. Cover art by Phoenix Mendoza with typesetting by Jun T.N.

What a read! This was short and intense and I got grabbed by the first sentence and not let go until the end. A very relatable story of abuse, transness and chronic Illness told in a beautifully horrifying tale of devouring.
